Left-hander Aaron Loup was activated from the 15-day disabled list to take Tulowitzki's spot on the roster. Loup had been out for the first seven weeks of the season with a strained flexor tendon in his left elbow.
Ryan Goins and Darwin Barney are expected to split time at shortstop until Tulowitzki is eligible to return in the middle of June.
