D-backs hold off on Greinke DL decision

vendredi 1 juillet 2016

So even if Greinke avoids the disabled list, he will more than likely not start Tuesday and instead will pitch one of the final two games the following weekend against the Giants at AT&T Park.

"He feels like he's going to be OK, so we have to keep looking at him and looking at the test results and see how he's doing," Hale said. "I don't see him starting Tuesday. I think that will be a start where we're going to have to come up with somebody."

That would likely be right-hander Zack Godley, who was optioned to Reno on June 24.

The D-backs could use Godley to start Tuesday and then option him back down and bring up an extra reliever for the bullpen.
