Rangers making effort to acquire lefty Sale

vendredi 22 juillet 2016

The Texas Rangers are making a run at acquiring White Sox left-hander Chris Sale, MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan reports. According to Sullivan, there is no indication as to whether a deal will be struck, and Chicago will likely want infielder Jurickson Profar and/or Rangers No. 1 prospect Joey Gallo in exchange.

Sale is tied for the Major League lead with 14 wins (14-3) and has a 3.18 ERA. He has been an All-Star in every season since 2012, and led the American League with 274 strikeouts last season.

The 23-year-old Profar is slashing .304/.351/.435 with four home runs and 14 RBIs in 42 games this season.

Gallo has appeared in only one game this season, on May 23, going 0-for-1. In 123 plate appearances last season, the left fielder/third baseman hit .204/.301/.417 with six home runs and 14 RBIs. At Triple-A Round Rock this season, he's slashing .254/.394/.561 with 17 home runs and 43 RBIs in 66 games.
