Scherzer reaches 200 K's for 5th straight season

mardi 9 août 2016

Scherzer, who began the game tied with Miami's Jose Fernandez for the Major League lead in strikeouts at 198, has been on a roll since the start of June. Entering Tuesday, Scherzer posted a 1.84 ERA with a Major League-leading 108 strikeouts in his 12 starts since June 1. That dominant stretch has placed him in the conversation for who could secure the National League Cy Young Award -- a conversation that includes his teammate, Stephen Strasburg.
