The rally came against reliever Scott Oberg after Rockies starter Tyler Chatwood allowed two runs on five hits over 6 2/3 innings. Chatwood struck out a season-high eight batters, his most in a game since July 26, 2013. He also did not walk a batter for the first time since May 27 against the Giants. In his previous 10 starts, he averaged 6.28 walks per nine innings.
The rally started with three straight one-out singles from Ian Desmond, Rougned Odor and Carlos Beltran, the last of which was an RBI knock to make it 5-3. Adrian Beltre followed with a two-run double to tie the game. Left-hander Jake McGee took over and retired Mitch Moreland on a fly to left. But Elvis Andrus singled up the middle to put the Rangers ahead.
Odor added a run-scoring double for the Rangers in the ninth and Sam Dyson finished it out for his 25th save.
