NEW YORK -- Yoenis Cespedes made a dramatic return to the Mets on Tuesday, hitting a pinch-hit, game-tying, three-run homer in the seventh inning of a 4-3 win over the Reds, the first pinch-hit home run of his career.
Cespedes' at-bat was his first since having fluid drained Monday from a bruise in his right leg. He had not appeared in a game at all since Friday. Three batters after Cespedes' homer, David Wright put the Mets ahead for the first time all night with an RBI single.

Cespedes originally injured his leg diving into the stands for a foul ball during an April 13 game against the Marlins, but played through the injury for over a week. During that time, he recorded at least one extra-base hit in seven straight games, a streak he extended to eight with Tuesday's homer.
