Marlins' Gordon suspended 80 games

jeudi 28 avril 2016

Soon after the Marlins finished off a four-game sweep of the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Thursday night, the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced that Miami second baseman Dee Gordon has been suspended 80 games without pay, effective immediately.

Gordon tested positive for exogenous Testosterone and Clostebol, which are performance-enhancing substances, in violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Gordon, an All-Star the past two seasons and the 2015 National League batting champion, had a hit and an RBI on Thursday and has a .266 average in 21 games this season.
